Why they keep killing us?

At this point,

We know we don't matter.

They've proven that,

Time and time again,

But can't we just not matter in peace.

They've created a genocide,

Buried our voices and all we hear are ignored cries.

I get to walk this earth everyday.

Been blessed to make this world better in many ways,

But my brothers and sisters are gone without a doubt.

Wasn't given that same chance I was given,

To build us up,

Empower us and let our souls fly free.

They shoot to kill,

With no second thoughts.

What happened to the taser or the bat?

All they wanna hear is "gat gat",

And the sound of our lifeless bodies dropping to the ground.

The list of names grows taller and taller,

Our rights seem to get smaller and smaller

Will we ever be free,

Truly free?

I'm sick of memorizing the names of my people killed by the cops.

They think its a joke

They think its a game, but it's really lame,

Having to watch on the TV another nigga get slain.

We're so desensitized to this.

Forget a trigger warning

Cause they didn't give us a warning when the trigger was pulled.

Everyday I realize more and more that our bodies don't matter.

All they want is for their pockets to thrive.

The capitalism gets them high,

While they keep telling those lies.

Are you less scared,

Now that you have done what you've done?

They out here getting paid to kill.

A cop can choose his job,

But a Black man can't choose his skin

The skin he lives in is in him.
